We are Back on the Road Again...
This trip is to the Pacific Northwest, fires and smoky conditions be damned! Much of the focus will be visiting with family and friends, but we will also take in many of the scenic national parks that can be found in Washington.
Our first day was primarily focused on heading north; we got as far as Shasta City in northern California. We did make a stop at Granzella’s in Williams (CA) because, why not? They make delicious sandwiches and are always a good lunch stop. We spent the night at the Shasta City KOA and had an evening “walktail” in the campground “shopping” for a new RV (a Newmar Super-C was the leading contender).
Our second day destination was Bend, Oregon. We chose this stop primarily to visit with old work friends but, after spending some time in town there, we decided that it would make a great destination for a longer stay.
We met up with Jeff and rented some E-bike/scooters to cruise around town and along the Deschutes River. We stopped to have a beer where Neil joined us. It was great catching up with these friends.
On somewhat of a spur of the moment, we decided to buy tickets to attend a concert at the Hayden Homes amphitheater with our friends. We had a quick bite to eat at Base Camp with a few more new friends before heading to the concert. We saw Lukas Nelson and Tedeschi Trucks Band perform.
The Bend RV Park provided a great place to stay and is one we would go back to. On to Mt. Ranier for our next stop…
