San Jose Creek Hike

San Jose Creek Hike

Our next stop brought us to a local hike practically in our own backyard. The San Jose Creek trail, in Monterey County, is partly in Ishxenta State Park and partly in Palo Corona Regional Park. As there is limited access to the trail in the state park, we had to register through the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District. This was a guided hike, originally scheduled for March that was cancelled due to rain. We thought the rescheduled date would be to our benefit to allow for more spring flowers. We were hopeful for a sunny day today, but it was overcast the entire time. Nonetheless, we were rewarded with a spectacular display of wildflowers! The hike was leisurely, relatively easy, and was a bit over four miles round trip.
