Yosemite Strike Team 2025 – Day 1

Yosemite Strike Team 2025 – Day 1

Today by the Numbers-

Miles driven: 220

Elevation gained: 3,400 feet

Driving Day

Today we drove to Gilroy to meet up with Sarah Ann and then caravaned to the Thousand Trails Yosemite Lakes RV Campground. Towing the Jeep always makes the driving demand a bit more attention, but it went without any significant incidents. Arrival at the campground is always great because you know it is time to start the relaxing and getting into vacation mode.  After cracking the arrival beer, it is time to get camp set up… level the RV, connect utilities, set up the tables and canopy, roll out the awning, and get the Starlink up and running (gotta have the internet to create and publish this post!).

Our home base for the next five days

Dinner was compliments of Ken and Teresa and included tri-tip, potato salad, corn on the cob, and garlic bread. Cocktail hour was compliments of Deb and Paul and offered a choice of a Manhattan, Whiskey Sour, or a Dark and Stormy. The evening ended with friends around the campfire and reconnecting with some that we haven’t seen in a year or more. Good times! 🔥

Tomorrow’s plans have yet to be decided…
